Elliot Nash photographing on location at sunset

Hi, I'm Elliot Nash. I photograph people, places and plates of food.

I picked up my first film camera at seventeen and never really put one down. Twelve years later I shoot around forty weddings a year, cover two full sports seasons, and fill the gaps with portraits, buildings, wildlife, restaurant menus and long walks with a tripod. Silverhalide Prints started as a darkroom nickname and grew into this studio: sessions, presets and prints under one roof.

My style is simple — honest light, real expressions, nothing over-posed. If a frame needs heavy rescuing in the edit, I would rather have shot it better. That restraint is baked into every preset pack I sell: they nudge, they don't bulldoze.

How I work

Three habits that shape every session, whatever the subject.

Plan first, shoot loose

Every booking starts with a planning call and a shot list we both sign off. On the day itself I leave room for the unplanned frame — that's usually the one you print.

Light before gear

I scout light at the time we'll actually shoot, not at noon the week before. Window light, last light, stadium light — the schedule bends around it.

Edit like film

Restraint in post: true skin, honest colour, contrast with somewhere to go. The preset packs in the store are literally my starting points.
